The Kingdom of God is recognized not by buildings—but by:
restored lives
healed bodies
freed captives
transformed hearts
Wherever Jesus went, the Kingdom arrived.
“Jesus Came to Establish the Kingdom of God in us here on earth, Not to Preserve a Building”
Jesus Christ did not come as a religious reformer.
He came as a King of kings. As the lion of the tribe of Judah. He's the God, Who Was and Is, and Is to come.
He did not come merely to improve existing systems.
He came to introduce heaven’s government here on earth. The heavenly government of The God Whose Kingdom will never end. Hallelujah!
And because many people read the Bible through the sense of traditions and religions, and not through the enlightening knowledge of the Kingdom of God, we often misunderstand:
the Church
worship
gathering
the Temple
and Jesus’ true intention
This message is not against the Church.
It is for the Church, because the Church belongs to Christ—not buildings, not systems, and certainly not traditions.
To understand the Church, we must first understand what Jesus came preaching.
From the beginning of the ministry of Jesus, the Scripture says:
“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’”
(Matthew 4:17)
Jesus did not say:
“Repent, for church attendance is at hand”
“Repent, for a new building is coming”
He said the Kingdom—God’s rule, God’s reign, God’s authority—had arrived.
The Church was never meant to replace the Kingdom.
The Church was meant to carry, express, and manifest the Kingdom.
JESUS WENT ABOUT — THE KINGDOM WAS MOBILE
Matthew records:
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and disease.”
(Matthew 4:23)
Notice carefully:
Jesus went about
He did not stay in one location
He did not establish headquarters
Jesus taught in synagogues—but He was never confined to them.
He taught:
on mountains
by the sea
in boats
in homes
on roads
in open fields
at a well with one woman
Why Does This Matter?
Jesus was demonstrating that God’s presence is not locked to a place.
The Kingdom moves with obedience, compassion, and truth.
HE WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD” — THE KINGDOM IN ACTION
Acts 10:38 declares:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
Jesus did not go about building monuments.
He went about healing people.
The Kingdom of God is recognized not by buildings—but by:
restored lives
healed bodies
freed captives
transformed hearts
Wherever Jesus went, the Kingdom arrived.
THE TEMPLE QUESTION — AND JESUS’ SHOCKING PROPHECY
Now we come to a critical moment.
In Matthew 24:1–2, Scripture says:
“Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.’”
This statement was earth-shaking.
The Temple was:
sacred
revered
central to Jewish worship
believed to be untouchable
Yet Jesus declared its destruction.
Why?
Not because God hated the Temple—but because its purpose had been fulfilled.
BIBLICAL MEANING OF “NOT ONE STONE UPON ANOTHER
This prophecy was:
historically fulfilled in 70 AD when Rome destroyed Jerusalem
spiritually significant beyond history
The Temple was the place where God’s presence once dwelt.
But Jesus Himself had already said:
“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
(John 2:19)
Scripture explains:
“He was speaking of the temple of His body.”
Jesus was revealing a transition:
From stone temples → to living temples
From external dwelling → to the indwelling presence of God’s Spirit in us.
God was not homeless after the Temple fell.
God had already moved.
THE GREAT TRANSITION: WORSHIP REDEFINED (JOHN 4)
Jesus explained this shift clearly to us:
“The hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father…”
“…the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.”
This was not rebellion. This was revelation.
Jesus was saying:
Worship would no longer be place-dependent
God would no longer dwell in one geographic location
Why?
Because God was preparing to dwell in people.
THE KINGDOM IS WITHIN YOU
Jesus later declared:
“The Kingdom of God does not come with observation… for the Kingdom of God is within you.”
(Luke 17:20–21)
This changes everything.
If the Kingdom is within:
worship is internal
obedience is daily
God’s rule is personal
Church is no longer something you attend.
It is something you live.
YOU ARE NOW THE TEMPLE
Paul confirms this truth:
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?”
(1 Corinthians 6:19)
The destruction of the physical Temple did not end God’s dwelling. It expanded it.
Now:
every believer is a sanctuary
every gathering is living stones together
every place becomes holy ground
As Peter wrote:
“You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house.”
WHY GATHERING STILL MATTERS (RIGHTLY UNDERSTOOD)
Hebrews says:
“Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together.”
This does not mean:
God lives in the building
worship only happens there
It means:
believers need encouragement
love grows in community
Kingdom culture is strengthened together
We gather not to summon God—
but because God already lives in us.
“WHERE TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED…”
Jesus said:
“Where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst.”
This is Kingdom authority language.
It means:
agreement releases heaven’s backing
unity manifests Christ’s rule
aligned hearts activate Kingdom authority
God is not arriving. His reign is being expressed.
JESUS’ WARNING TO THE CHURCH (THEN AND NOW)
Jesus constantly warned us against:
outward religion without inward submission
form without power
tradition without truth
The Temple fell because God had already moved it into hearts.
Likewise, Church services without Kingdom living risk becoming empty structures—busy, but powerless.
WHAT JESUS ACTUALLY WANTS HIS CHURCH TO BE
Jesus wants:
disciples, not spectators
Kingdom citizens, not religious consumers
people who walk with God daily, not weekly
The Church was meant to be:
mobile
compassionate
Spirit-filled
truth-rooted
Kingdom-governed
Just like Jesus.
TRUE WORSHIP DEFINED
True worship is not:
limited to music
confined to a building
restricted to services
True worship is:
surrender
obedience
holiness
love
Kingdom alignment
“The Father is seeking worshipers.”
❤️ THE INVITATION OF JESUS
Jesus is still calling the world:
the religious
the broken
the lost
the searching
Not to stone temples.
But to Himself.
FINAL KINGDOM DECLARATION
Jesus foretold the fall of the Temple—not to destroy worship—but to restore it to the heart.
The Church is not a building.
The Church is a Kingdom people.
Jesus went about doing good.
And now He says:
“As the Father sent Me, so send I you.”
