You may have heard the Gospel many times.
You may have grown up in church.
You may know Bible stories.
You may listen to sermons, Christian music and teachings.
You may even believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
But there is a question that each person must answer personally:
Have you personally responded to the Gospel?
The Gospel is not simply information about Christianity.
It is the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ.
Humanity is separated from God by sin, and we cannot save ourselves through good works, religious activity, morality or human effort.
But God, in His love, sent His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus lived without sin, died for our sins, and rose again. His death was not merely an example of love—it was God's provision for our redemption.
As Scripture declares:
“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures… He was buried, and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
The Gospel therefore calls for a response.
Hearing Is Not the Same as Responding
You can hear the truth without surrendering to the Truth.
You can know about Jesus without actually following Jesus.
You can sit under biblical teaching while never allowing God's Word to transform your life.
Jesus did not simply call people to admire Him.
He called them to repent, believe and follow Him.
That is why the Gospel demands a personal response.
“Repent and believe the good news!”
— Mark 1:15
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God.
Faith means trusting in Jesus Christ—not merely agreeing that He exists, but placing your confidence in Him as Lord and Saviour.
So, What Is Your Response?
Perhaps you have never truly surrendered your life to Christ.
Perhaps you have been around Christianity for years, but your relationship with God has remained largely cultural, traditional or intellectual.
Or perhaps you once responded to Christ sincerely, but you have become spiritually distracted, distant or complacent.
Wherever you are, God's Word invites you to respond.
Do not substitute religious familiarity for genuine faith.
The question is not merely:
“Have I heard the Gospel?”
The deeper question is:
“What have I done with Jesus Christ?”
Have you believed Him?
Have you repented?
Have you trusted Him?
Have you surrendered to His Lordship?
Are you following Him?
The Word Works
This is why The Word Works exists.
We are a Christ-centred teaching ministry committed to helping people encounter, understand and live according to the truth of God's Word.
We believe Scripture should not be treated as a collection of inspirational quotes detached from its context.
We seek to explain Scripture faithfully, in context, so that believers can understand not only what the Bible says, but also what it means and how it calls us to live.
Through The Word Works, we seek to:
✦ Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Helping people understand the good news of salvation and the call to personally respond to Christ.
✦ Deepen understanding of Scripture
Exploring God's Word in context rather than reducing biblical truth to isolated verses.
✦ Teach biblical prayer
Helping Christians develop a prayer life grounded in God's character, His Word and His will.
✦ Explore the person and work of the Holy Spirit
Growing in understanding of who the Holy Spirit is and how He works in the life of the believer.
✦ Equip Christians to live out their faith daily
Moving beyond hearing the Word to applying it in relationships, decisions, character, work, family and everyday life.
Because God's Word is not given merely to inform us.
It is given to transform us.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
— James 1:22
Your Response Matters
The Gospel has been proclaimed.
Jesus Christ has come.
The cross has happened.
The resurrection has happened.
The invitation has been given.
But each person must respond.
So today, don't only ask:
“Do I know the Gospel?”
Ask:
“Have I personally responded to the Gospel?”
If you have never placed your faith in Jesus Christ, you can come to Him today.
Turn from sin.
Believe in Jesus.
Trust Him for salvation.
Surrender your life to Him.
And begin walking with Him—not merely as someone who knows about Christ, but as someone who belongs to Christ.
The Word Works
Christ-centred. Scripture-grounded. Life-transforming.
Here, we don't just want to read the Word.
We want to understand it, believe it, pray it, live it—and allow it to work in us.
Have you personally responded to the Gospel?
